Teguise Carnival (Villa de Teguise and Costa Teguise)

Teguise's carnival unfolds across the old town and Costa Teguise, with a grand parade of floats, comparsas and murgas, a daytime carnival on Plaza de los Leones and a traditional carnival gathering troupes from across the islands. Its hallmark are the Diabletes, masked bull-devil figures in diamond-patterned costumes hung with cowbells, rooted in ancient fertility rites and the Corpus Christi festival. The theme and full programme change every year.
