A music-and-religion tradition awarded the Gold Medal of the Government of the Canary Islands. On Christmas Eve, before the Nativity scene in the Guadalupe church, the Rancho de Pascua sings and dances age-old carols, including the emblematic Baile del Salto that ends by kissing the Christ Child. The Ranchos season opens around Saint Lucy's day (December 13).
