The main carnival of the municipality of Yaiza, held in Playa Blanca with a different theme or allegory each year. Its regular ingredients include the parade with troupes, murgas, samba drumming and costumes; galas and contests, the Grand Drag Queen Gala, daytime carnival, open-air dances and concerts. It is a moveable feast tied to the Easter calendar, so the programme and exact dates are worth checking each year.
