Organised by
Ayuntamiento de Yaiza y comisión de fiestas de Uga
Festivities in honour of San Isidro Labrador, patron of farmers, in the farming and camel-rearing village of Uga. Its biggest event is the romería offering: a parade of pilgrims in traditional Canarian dress, ox-carts, timple-and-guitar folk bands and, most distinctively, harnessed camels (Uga was the island's historic centre of camel breeding). The main day, 15 May, brings the solemn Mass and procession; the programme also tends to include an opening address, open-air dances, comedy playback, Canarian bowls and children's activities.
