Puerto del Carmen Carnival

A carnival by the sea in Puerto del Carmen, with a different theme each year. It brings together the murga singing contest —with its social and political satire—, comparsas, batucada drummers, street parades and a float cavalcade, alongside traditional Canarian figures such as buches, diabletes and cabezudos. The party ends with the Burial of the Sardine along the seafront promenade. The dates shift every year as they depend on the Lenten calendar.
