La Degollada Festival (Virgen de la Victoria)

The festivities of the small rural hamlet of La Degollada, in honour of the Virgen de la Victoria, held around the Pilar long weekend in October. Firmly community-based, they revolve around the religious service and a programme of envite, ronda and chinchón card tournaments, folk-band performances, poetry recitals, a dessert contest, a communal meal and an open-air dance. Exact dates are worth checking each year.
