Fiestas of Our Lady of the Snows (pilgrimage to the summit)

The feast of Lanzarote's historic patroness, whose vow was established by the island council in 1725. It features the climb and pilgrimage to the Las Nieves hermitage high on the Famara massif, a solemn Mass on August 5 and a procession of the image accompanied by the Teguiband municipal band. It draws thousands from across the island and La Graciosa; August 5 is a local public holiday in Teguise.
