Pilgrimage of the Cristo de las Aguas in Guatiza

Regarded as Lanzarote's oldest pilgrimage, it honours the Cristo de las Aguas, a crucifix that tradition says appeared in the sea off Los Cocoteros in the mid-19th century. The day features the offering, the pilgrimage, folk music and dancing, food-and-drink stalls and the procession of the Christ. The exact programme varies each year.
