Aguapata Festival (El Islote)

A festival with deep farming roots in the El Islote hamlet, tied to the wine cycle and the end of the grape harvest. Its hallmark is the Aguapata contest — the traditional gofio dish that gives the festival its name — alongside country customs such as the 'tostijo', sheep shearing and donkey races. The rural, family atmosphere is rounded out with folk music, Canarian wrestling displays, a craft market, food tastings, workshops, theatre, open-air dances and fireworks, in a celebration that revives the old trades and customs of the Lanzarote countryside.
