Patron Saint Festival of San Bartolomé (St. Bartholomew)

This is the municipality's main celebration in honour of its patron, St. Bartholomew the Apostle, whose feast day on 24 August brings a solemn Mass and a procession led by the Municipal Music Band. Its popular heart is the Romería-Ofrenda, when residents in traditional Canarian dress parade with ox-carts down to Plaza León y Castillo to offer the fruits of the land, followed by the Baile del Romero with folk 'parranda' bands and a street party. Across August the programme also features folk gatherings, Canarian wrestling, traditional games, children's events, sports tournaments and fireworks.
